Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” God is so good to me! He has given me a Godly and beautiful wife, wonderful children, a nice home, and great parents. Most of all God sent His Son for me. Christ came to earth, lived a perfectly sinless life, and died in my place…paying my hell for me.
When I was three years old, I understood I was a sinner. I understood that if I died, I would spend an eternity apart from Jesus. I understood that Jesus died for me so that I can live with Him. I accepted Him as my personal Savior and began my walk with Him. Once I turned ten years old, I obeyed Christ by being baptized. Two years later, a major change took place in my life.
My parents decided that it was time to leave Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City, Iowa and start attending Holmes Baptist Church in Clarion, Iowa. I am so thankful that they made that difficult decision because God started working in great ways in my life through the ministry of Pastor Pat Odle and Pastor Dan Fields.
Pastor Dan was the youth pastor and he took me under his wing. Under his ministry, I learned that the Christian life was about far more than just going to church. I learned that having personal devotions is vital to my spiritual growth, that I need to tell my friends about Jesus Christ, and that I need to be a servant.
It was through the ministry of Pastor Dan and Pastor Odle that God called me to full-time ministry. I saw the incredible need for men to step up and be leaders. I also saw that my generation needed to hear about Jesus Christ, and that the believers in my generation needed to start living for Christ.
I attended and graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College, serving as an intern (Junior Year) and then as a youth pastor (Senior Year and following) at Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa. In January of 2012, God moved us to Gas City, Indiana to work in the youth and children’s ministry at New Hope Baptist Church. After 3 1/2 years of fruitful ministry, God moved us to Havana, Illinois to become the senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church.
I am an avid Green Bay Packer fan and love woodworking. I also hang out on Facebook...probably more than I should :-)!!! Here is the link to my fb page.
